Testing Information

As you know, the Alabama State Department of Education adopted the Performance Series by Scantron as its diagnostic tool for students in grades 3-8 for 2017-18, replacing the ACT Aspire as our state test. The ACT Aspire was given at the end of the school year as a summative assessment for the year; however, students have now taken three Performance Series benchmark assessments throughout the year, including math, reading, and science.

Your student will test on the following dates:

Monday, April 9th - 8th Grade Math; Tuesday, April 10th - 8th Grade Reading; Monday, April 16th - 6th and 7th Grade Math;Tuesday, April 17th - 6th and 7th Grade Reading; Wednesday, April 18th - 7th Grade Science

The school district will receive student assessment results from the state department by the end of summer, at which time we will send home a score report. We will also provide information on interpreting the scores and understanding your child’s growth.

Additional information about the Performance Series by Scantron can be found at www.scantron.com/performanceseries .

If you have questions about the Performance Series assessments, please contact an administrator at your child’s school.
